Oh anon, I don’t think of you as wuss at all. The problem is that we tend to think of the fanservice in the anime/manga as something that’s normal you know, ‘oh, well here we go again…’, and while it may be common it doesn’t mean it’s okay or that we should be cool with it. If something makes you uncomfortable it makes you uncomfortable and that’s it. You don’t have to deal or be ok with situations you don’t enjoy even if they’re perfectly acceptable scenarios for everybody else.
It’s extremely frustrating because ultimately the point of the fanservice it to make those characters more appealing (to the male audience mostly) and it really is upsetting, to say the least, because when we have all these amazing female characters with wonderful backstories and development to begin with, we shouldn’t have to rely on panty shots and big cleavages to make them more ‘interesting’. They are strong, they are funny, they are great, valuable, characters with many sides to them and all of those things should speak for themselves and be enough to make them ‘attractive’ to any audience.

it was horrible. i know this is ft and i know there is always going to be a lot of fanservice thrown at us for no apparent reason but it was just really over the top this week??
i mean, really, what was the point of it? none. and then for some reason some of the people who were complaining about lucy’s nakeness last week seem to have forgotten about it because ‘omg nalu!!!!’. it’s kinda messed up if you ask me
